The Banco de Venezuela (1890) series of Venezuela in the World Currency contains 70 distinct entries.
The Banco de Venezuela (Bank of Venezuela, VEN) began operations in Caracas on 18 August 1890 with capital of 8,000,000 bolívares, the product of the transformation of the first Banco Comercial and the absorption of Banco de Carabobo. It had no relationship with the identically named Banco de Venezuela founded in 1861 and bankrupted in 1862.
