£22,100 in indented typeset bearer certificates issued for military and public expense. These were redeemable by Nov. 1, 1782 and receivable as specie in payment for purchases of confiscated Tory estates. Denominations inserted by hand. Signers were Joseph Habersham, Lyman Hall*, Jared Irwin, (Semie Ross), and George Walton*. Some signatures on certificates are written by an amanuensis or are forged. This issue is fiscal paper rather than circulating currency.
