CAC approved and CACG encapsulated coins fared well in public sales during the month of July 2026.
The Small Head/Long Neck Wass Molitor eagle was struck using the former 1850 $10 Dubosq & Company dies. The “0” in 1850 was drilled out of the die, plugged, and re-engraved with a 2, and “DUBOSQ & Co.” was re-engraved with “W.M. & Co.” on Liberty’s coronet. Between 20 and 30 examples are known, ten of which were recovered from the S.S. Central America. The finest example known is a choice AU, and any original high-end XF or AU coin would be a member of the condition census.
