Veteran rare coin dealer Dr. Michael Fuljenz, founder of Universal Coin & Bullion in Beaumont, Texas, was honored with the Numismatic Literary Guild’s 2026 award for Best Investment Newsletter. It was presented at the recent American Numismatic Association Pittsburgh World’s Fair of Money® for his weekly Metals Market Report that focuses on rare coins, precious metals, and consumer protection in the marketplace.

Fuljenz has received more than 60 NLG awards since 1986, including the organization’s highest honor, The Clemy Award. He’s also received over a dozen awards from the Press Club of Southeast Texas, the American Numismatic Association, and the Professional Numismatists Guild.

“Knowing the rarity, popularity and price of a rare coin or what is affecting the price trends of gold and silver is only part of the equation. Investors need crucial information about avoiding scams when buying or selling, and advice about toning, luster and safely storing their valuables. That’s what I do in the newsletter,” explained Fuljenz.

Jerry Jordan, senior marketing consultant at Universal Coin & Bullion, received an NLG award for a news story he wrote for COINage Magazine about the United States Mint’s 2025 Texas Innovation dollar. The coin celebrates NASA's Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The nonprofit NLG is composed of editors, reporters, writers, and content producers in the fields of rare coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, and precious metals. The organization was founded in 1968.

Known as America's Gold Expert®, Fuljenz was the 2021 American Numismatic Association Dealer of the Year. His free, weekly Metals Market Report is available online at www.UniversalCoin.com.
