The Territory of Western Samoa series of Western Samoa in the World Currency contains 108 distinct entries.

Between 1919 and 1962, Samoa was administered by New Zealand’s Department of External Affairs, a government department which had been specially created to oversee New Zealand’s Island Territories and Samoa. In 1943, this department was renamed the Department of Island Territories after a separate Department of External Affairs was created to conduct New Zealand’s foreign affairs. Prior to 1943, all notes bear the handwritten signature of the secretary to the New Zealand treasury, and the dates were stamped by hand. After 1943, all signatures and dates were printed.
