The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Gold Buffalo Sets (2008) series of Bullion in the U.S. Coins contains 3 distinct entries with CPG® values between $4,761.46 and $9,206.47.

In 2008, the West Point Mint issued a series of sets incorporating the various American Buffalo .9999-fine gold bullion coins, which were first issued in 2008 and became an instant hit with both coin collectors and precious metals investors. Two 2008-W four-coin sets were offered by the United States Mint, including a proof set with the tenth-ounce $5, quarter-ounce $10, half-ounce $25, and one-ounce $50 American Buffalo gold coins.

Another four-coin set includes uncirculated examples of the American Buffalo gold coins in $5, $10, $25, and $50 denominations. A third 2008-W product known as the Double Prosperity set includes a $25 American Buffalo gold coin and $25 American Eagle gold coin, both in uncirculated condition.

The American Buffalo gold coin sets remain popular today. Many collectors pursue the sets intact with their original government packaging. However, some hobbyists and many investors prefer certified examples of the various coins of the gold Buffalo sets in grades of MS69, MS70, PR69, or PR70.
