The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Greater Japan Imperial Government (府政國帝本日大) series of China Occupation in the World Currency contains 89 distinct entries with CPG® values between $1.00 and $1,500.00.

e Greater Japan Imperial Government (GJIG) issued banknotes in China on three separate occasions over a 50 year period between 1895 and 1945, all brought about by invasion, occupation, or war: during the First Sino-Japanese War of 1894- 1895 (B5001 - B5005); during the 1904 Russo-Japanese War (B5006 - B5011); and nally during the Second Sino-Japanese War (later, World War II) from 1937 to 1945 (B5012 - B5041).

e Greater Japan Imperial Government (GJIG) also issued notes in Kiau Chau (B201 - B206), Russia (PM13 - PM18) and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (B301 - B305), as well as notes for use in occupied territories during World War II (see Burma, French Indo-China, Malaya, Netherlands East Indies, Oceania, and Philippines).

Be aware that while many of these notes appear in the China chapter of SCWPM, others are listed under Japan. Where the latter applies, this is noted in the introduction before the series in question.

Early GJIG notes (B5001 - B5016) are loosely based on the Japan “German Notes” of 1872 (Japan B113 - B121) and feature cockerels and dragons on the fronts. Care should be taken to distinguish them from similar Japanese Empire notes issued for Kiau Chau (B201 - B206), Korea (B207 - B209), Russia (Japan PM13 - PM18), and Taiwan (B301 - B304).
