1940 One Cent PR RD DCAM Values

Details

1940 proof cents are more common than their 1930s predecessors, though much scarcer than post-World War II Lincoln proofs. Most of the survivors are encountered in the PR64-PR66 range, though be sure to choose pieces that show even color without spotting or stains. Top pieces are more difficult and registry set collectors and others desiring superb examples will pay premiums for these when necessary.

Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portait and the date postioned on the right side.

Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
