The Mines Domaniales de la Sarre series of Saar in the World Currency contains 2 distinct entries.

The Saar is a heavily-industrialized region with rich coal deposits. As reparations for Germany’s destruction of coal mines in Northern France during World War I, France nationalized the Saar’s coal mines. During the region’s 15 years as an autonomous territory under a League of Nations mandate, it was occupied jointly by Britain and France, and governed by a five-person commission made up of representatives of the occupation forces.
