The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Banque de Madagascar (Bank of Madagascar) series of Madagascar in the World Currency contains 47 distinct entries with CPG® values between $5.00 and $9,700.00.

On 1 July 1925, the French government formed an agreement with the Banque de Paris et des Pays-Bas to create the Banque de Madagascar (Bank of Madagascar, BDM), headquartered in Paris, and granted it a private monopoly to issue currency for the colony of Madagascar. The Banque de Madagascar was founded on 22 December 1925 and introduced the franc malgache (Malagasy franc) at par with the French franc.
