The Chinese-American Bank of Commerce series of China Foreign Banks in the World Currency contains 35 distinct entries.

The Chinese-American Bank of Commerce (CABC) was a joint venture bank, founded in April 1919, registered in Beijing, and organized with 50% Chinese and 50% American capital. It was headquartered in Shanghai and also maintained branches in Hankou, Harbin, Shangdong, and Tianjin. One of its managers included Austrian-born Eduard Kann, a noted Chinese numismatologist.

By 1929, many investors, upset that the bank lacked a clear business direction for the future, and tired of internal squabbles, sold off their stock. The bank was forced to close shortly thereafter. Most of the bank’s notes were redeemed, making them very scarce.
