About This Series

The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Banque Belge Pour l’Etranger series of China Foreign Banks in the World Currency contains 39 distinct entries with CPG® values between $500.00 and $4,000.00.
In 1913, the Sino-Belgian Bank changed its name to Banque Belge Pour l’Étranger (French: Belgian Bank for Abroad, BBE) and became an official subsidiary of the Société Génerale de Belgique (formerly Société Génerale). The English name was dropped from the notes, while the Chinese name remained unchanged.
