1998-S Clad Proof Set Cent-Half Dollar PR 5 Coins Values

Details

Original Packaging: A two-piece, transparent plastic casing with frosted borders held a green fiberboard insert containing holes for the coins. This was slipped into a green cardboard box upon which the words “UNITED STATES MINT PROOF SET • 1998” were printed in silver script.

Commentary: 1998 witnessed another low mintage for the regular Proof set. It was a bit higher than in 1997, perhaps because an announcement of the impending 50 State Quarters® Program sparked some additional interest.

The Prestige Proof set was now a thing of the past, and none were offered in this and subsequent years.
