1996-S Silver Proof Set Cent-Half Dollar PR 5 Coins Values

Details

Original Packaging: A two-piece, transparent plastic casing with frosted borders held a black fiberboard insert containing holes for the coins. Printed on this insert was the word “Silver” in silver script. The assembled set was slipped into a black cardboard box upon which the words “UNITED STATES MINT SILVER PROOF SET • 1996” were printed in silver script.

Commentary: The 1996-S silver Proof set enjoyed typical sales for the period and is not especially rare. The quality of the coins, needless to say, is nearly perfect. The majority of certified examples grade Proof-69 ultra cameo and higher, yet these top-grade coins enjoy a strong following among the current generation of collectors.

Sales of the silver Premier Proof set were fairly close to those of 1995, some 151,366 sets being placed with happy buyers.
