1993-S Clad Proof Set Cent-Half Dollar PR 5 Coins Values

Details

Original Packaging: A two-piece, transparent plastic casing with frosted borders held a purple fiberboard insert containing holes for the coins. This was slipped into a purple cardboard box upon which the words “United States Mint Proof Set • 1993” were printed in silver script.

Commentary: The issue price of this year’s set rose from previous years, but this seems to have had no impact on sales.

Included within the 1993 Prestige Proof set were the clad half dollar and silver dollar honoring the bicentennial of the Bill of Rights. Since that anniversary actually occurred in 1991, less emphasis was placed on this theme in the actual designs, which are better known for portraying the bill’s author, James Madison. Some 224,045 sets were sold at $57 apiece.
