The Prestige Proof Set program ran inconsistently from 1983 to 1997 with a one or two commemorative coins added to the regular proof sets of the year. The 1991 Prestige Proof set included the clad half dollar and silver dollar honoring the golden anniversary of South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore Memorial. Some 256,954 sets were sold at $59 apiece, and they are seldom seen in the aftermarket.
