1976-S Clad Proof Set Cent-$1 PR 6 Coins Values

Details

Original Packaging: The coins were secured in a clear plastic casing with a red, flocked insert and a black, hinged frame. The hinge provided for an easel display of the set, and the words UNITED STATES PROOF SET appeared at the bottom of the frame in raised, silver lettering. A black cardboard box housed the assembled set, and the words “UNITED STATES PROOF SET • 1976” were printed on it in silver script.

Commentary: The 1976-S Proof set was enormously popular, as it included the three Bicentennial issues and, unlike the 1975 sets, all six coins were dated 1976. This certainly accounts for the unusually large sales. Despite its high mintage, this set retains its popularity with collectors.
