1926-S One Dollar MS Values
Details
The 1926-S Peace Dollar is a relatively common coin with a higher mintage, making this the last of the Peace Dollars with a mintage of over 2 million pieces. It is the only one of the San Francisco minted Peace Dollars that can be found with a good strike. Common and very affordable in all grades up through the gem level with MS66 being scarce and MS67 being rare.
This coin is made of 90% silver; 10% copper and has a current melt value of $52.27
Obverse: Portrait of a crowned Liberty featuring the word LIBERTY at the top periphery. The motto IN GOD WE left of Liberty's neck and TRUST to the right. The date in centered at the bottom.
Reverse: Perched eagle standing on a rock facing the right with UNITED STATES oF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM at the top periphery. The denomination of ONE DOLLAR left and right of the eagle's tail and the word PEACE at the bottom. Mintmark, if any, appears below the word ONE on the left side.
