1920 Maine Half dollar MS Values

Details

The 100th anniversary of Maine's statehood inspired the creation of a commemorative half dollar. The 1920 Maine half dollar is one of the earlier issues of the classic commemorative series that ran from 1892 through 1954, and it saw a fairly high mintage of more than 50,000 pieces. They were designed by Harry C. Cochrane and sold for $1 apiece.

The majority of known specimens are found in uncirculated grades, with the bulk grading between MS63-65, while MS66s are quite scarce but can be had for a price. Meanwhile, MS67s are very rare. Many show great strike and are quite lustrous, but buyers need to be careful with scratches and other imperfections.
