Just 4 examples known of this variety with raised stars on the rim. Only one example is known in private hands. The so-called Wire Rim Indian $10 eagle is also considered a pattern issue, listed as Judd-1901. This is a variety of that listing.

Obverse Description

The obverse bears the portrait of a Native American chieftain in formal headdress struck incuse with the words LIBERTY at the top and the date at the bottom. 13 stars across the top periphery, and the date appears at the bottom.

Reverse Description

The reverse features a majestic eagle perched atop a branch, holding an olive branch in its talons. The words UNITED STATES oF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and TEN DOLLARS appear at the top periphery, right of the eagle's neck, and the bottom periphery, respectively.
