1875 Commercial Dollar, Silver Pattern Trade Dollar PR CAM J-1423 Values

Details

1875 Commercial Dollar. Reverse die first seen with 1871 J-1154. By 1875, the Commercial dollar die was obsolete. The piece is a numismatic delicacy.

Obverse: Actually a trade dollar pattern die, with Liberty seated at the seashore, similar to J-1396 twenty-cent piece (complete with illogical depiction of ship), but here with a ribbon below the base inscribed IN GOD WE TRUST.

Reverse: Commercial dollar die. Large wreath enclosing COMMERCIAL DOLLAR / 420 GRS. / 900 FINE. On wreath ribbon is GOD OUR TRUST. At the top border is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
