The 1984 doubled die Lincoln cent is a major variety with strong doubling of Lincoln's earlobe, bowtie, and beard. Several thousand examples of this coin may exist, but it nevertheless remains too scarce to satisfy all demand and due to its massive popularity with collectors commands strong premiums over regular, non-error Lincoln cents.
Obverse Description
Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portait and the date postioned on the right side.
Reverse Description
Lincoln memorial building centered with words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on top and bottom periphery. E PLURIBUS UNUM centered above the top of the memorial.
