Details

Today, there are five known Conway $5s, two of which reside in the Smithsonian Institution, and two others, which are privately owned but pledged to a museum. The remaining specimen was stolen from Willis Dupont in 1967 and has not been recovered. A single 20th century forgery – struck over an 1845 federal half eagle – is known today.
