Rarities across the spectrum of American coinage are set to cross the auction block.
The second variety of Massachusetts & California Half Eagle is struck using an obverse die with the two uppermost stars touching the arrow, and a reverse die with only 15 berries on the wreath. The only known specimen was sold in the Lawrence Sale in 1929.
