Jordan - Central Bank of Jordan

Gold and Silver Proof Coins Mark 80 Years of Independence
The Central Bank of Jordan is offering commemorative coins in celebration of a national milestone event. It is 80 years since full independence was achieved by the nation after centuries of occupation and foreign domination by the Romans, the Byzantines, the Ottomans and finally, occupation by the British at the close of World War I.
In September 1922, the Council of the League of Nations recognised the regional state of Transjordan as a separate state under the terms of the Transjordan memorandum. With the Treaty of London, signed by the British government and the Emir of Transjordan on the 22nd March 1946, the full independence of the state was to be formally recognised. The treaty was ratified by Transjordan’s parliament on the 25th May 1946, and was raised to the status of a kingdom under the name The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Arabic.
Since 1946, the 25th May is celebrated as the nation's Independence Day, which is also a public holiday.
The obverse shared by all three versions depicts an effigy of King Abdullah II facing left encircled, and in the uniform of the country’s supreme commander in chief of the armed forces. Along the upper rim above the portrait is the text in Arabic عبد الله الثاني ابن الحسين (Abdallah II ibn Hussein) and below along the lower rim ملك المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية (King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan). To the left of the King’s likeness is the denomination shown in Arabic text and numerals and to the right, the same in Western lettering and numerals. The reverse side features a centred, silhouetted outline map of Jordan as a background with a calligraphic inscription المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) superimposed. Above the primary design and along the upper rim is the anniversary inscription in Arabic ٢٠٢٦ – ١٩٤٦ العيد الثمانون لاستقلال المملكة الأردنية الهاشمي (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) and along the lower rim, the same inscription in English THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE 1946 – 2026.

Romania - National Bank of Romania

Gold and Silver Proof Coins as Numismatic Tribute to Legendary Gymnast
The National Bank of Romania released a range of coins marking the 50th anniversary of an Olympic first when gymnast Nadia Comăneci became the first female gymnast to achieve a perfect score of 10.0 at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.
Just before the start of the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Omega, the official timers and providers of time-keeping scoreboards, inquired to the International Olympic Committee how many digits they should include on the electronic scoreboard, and were told that three digits would be sufficient, as a score of 10.00 would not be possible, nor has it ever been achieved. However, on the 18th July 1976, Comăneci made sporting and Olympic history with a ‘perfect 10’ on the uneven bars.
After her amazing performance and the score was posted on the boards, there was utter confusion on the part of Comăneci, her coaches, the audience and the TV announcers who could not understand why the board displayed 1.00. Since the scoreboard was limited to three digits, it was finally left to the announcer who informed the elated crowd that she had indeed scored a perfect 10.
The Proof coins are produced by the Monetăria Statului, Romanian State Mint at their facilities in Bucharest on behalf of the National Bank. The obverse design recreates one of Comăneci’s more memorable and iconic images, she is shown near the right side of the coin in the graceful pose after dismounting from the balance beam, arms extended and hands outstretched. Above her and along the upper is the text ROMANIA and to the lower left, the denomination 100 LEI (gold) 10 LEI (silver) or, 1 LEU (base metal). Near the lower rim are both the year of issue, 2026 and a small shield of the Romanian crest with two digits of the year on either side. The reverse depicts the now-iconic image of Nadia Comăneci performing an exercise on asymmetric parallel bars, the moment she scored a perfect score of 10. To the left of Comăneci and near centre, the time 073 in seconds of her routine and the three numbers 1.00 reflecting the score she received. To the lower right within the broad circle is her name NADIA COMANECI. Along the rim above the primary design is the commemorative text shown in incused lettering is the inscription PRIMA NOTA DE 10 (the first 10)

| Denomination | Metal | Weight | Diameter | Quality | Maximum Mintage |
| 1 Leu | tombac | 23.5 g. | 37 mm. | Proof | 2000 |

| 100 Lei | .900 Gold | 6.45 g. | 21 mm. | Proof | 200 |
