Obverse Description
Small tine on right loop of 6; Stars 6, 7, and 11 recut OBV. 1. S1LE, S7UE-UHHb, S8UH, S13LE. Stars are small, sharp and well clear of milling. S6UE. S8 is 1 mm. from cap. Date is 7 ½ mm. with 83 a shade closer than 18 or 36. A tiny spur or tine attached to right side of loop on 6. Late die states or worn specimens may not show the small tine at 6, or all of the recutting at stars 6, 7 and 11. Small die line from end of nose.
Reverse Description
E far right in relation to D REV. A. A1UE, A2LE, A3LH. 50 C. is 1 ¼ mm. and a trifle high. Loop of the 5 is nearly closed and the top is straight. A-A is slightly over ½ mm. There is a large double segment above last S in STATES. Crossbars lack detail. Stand of E is under right curve of D. I approximately centered under right side of T. Left side of N recut. This reverse was first used in 1834, Rev. I. (65,65,65,64,64) R.1
