In accordance with Article 122 of the Constitution and Article 11 of the Law “On foundations of state independence of Uzbekistan,” as well as the decision of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 3 September 1993 No. 952-XII on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 1 July 1994 introduced by the national currency som, which is the sole legal tender on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
