The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Mercantile Bank of India series of Hong Kong in the World Currency contains 45 distinct entries with CPG® values between $250.00 and $59,000.00.

The Mercantile Bank of India obtained permission to issue notes at its Hong Kong branch in 1911, and began issuing notes the following year. The bank was required to place securities with equivalent value with the Hong Kong authorities to guarantee payment of its notes.

Most Mercantile Bank of India notes bear a handwritten signature at lower left for the accountant and a printed signature at lower right for the manager. Notes of a given denomination and date have been confirmed with different handwritten signatures, but always the same printed signature.
