The 1994 5 Kuna is part of a series of Circulating commemorative coins struck from 1994-1994. Designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Nickel brass (Cu 63.1%, Ni 23.2%, Zn 13.7%).
Obverse: In the middle of the coin, number 5 is surrounded by a square. On the left side of a square is written "KUNA" in Latin letters and on the right side of the square, it is written "KUNA" in Glagolic letters. Above the number, there is placed the Coat of Arms of The Republic of Croatia. Under the number, there is placed the Coat of Arms of the Senj Town. Around the edge, there is written "REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA" twice. On the upper half in Latin letters and on the lower half in the Glagolic letters.
Reverse: In the inner circle, there is letter "S" written in Glagolic (S like Senj). Letter S (top part) turns into a book with a cross - Missal. Under the Missal, on the right, it is written the year 1494. in Arabic numbers and on the left side, under the Missal, the same year (1494.) is written in Glagolic numbers. The body of the letter S, in the lower part, turns into a silhouette of a Nehaj Town. On the right side of the silhouette is written the year of minting ('94.) and on the left side is author's signature (MD).
