The 1907 $10 Gold is part of a series of Indian head gold eagle coins struck from 1907-1908. The specific variety is Wire Rim. Struck in Philadelphia and designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of 90% gold; 10% copper from a mintage of 500 struck.
The so-called Wire Rim Indian $10 eagle is also considered a pattern issue, listed as Judd-1901.
Obverse: The obverse bears the portrait of a Native American chieftain in formal headdress struck incuse with the words LIBERTY at the top and the date at the bottom. 13 stars across the top periphery, and the date appears at the bottom.
Reverse: The reverse features a majestic eagle perched atop a branch, holding an olive branch in its talons. The words UNITED STATES oF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and TEN DOLLARS appear at the top periphery, right of the eagle's neck, and the bottom periphery, respectively.
