A YouTube video of the Professional Numismatist Guild’s recent one-hour educational symposium on selling coins online is available for free. Presented in conjunction with the 2026 Florida United Numismatists convention, the dealer forum featured expert advice from PNG and representatives of online platforms eBay and Whatnot.

The video is available at https://youtu.be/R6PzFiFnpWk.

PNG Executive Director John Feigenbaum, President James Sego, and Jeff Garrett, former President of the PNG and the American Numismatic Association, explained that the purpose of the symposium was to educate dealers on the benefits and potential of live selling online.

Moderator Greg Bennick of PayCompass discussed processing credit card payments.

The participating eBay representatives were Senior Business Development Manager Rebecca Tran, Core Category Manager Jacob Acosta, and Coins Category Manager Elisa Yu.

“Live commerce is the new way of shopping,” stated Yu. “Live shoppers are treasure hunters looking for a great deal, really great inventory, but they’re coming back for the entertainment, the community, and trust."

In the video, she suggested dealers might consider presenting limited-time offers and exclusive products available only online.

Acosta offered advice on improving online listings, speeding up the listing process, and how dealers can save on fees when selling on eBay.

Kevin Anthony, Whatnot Category Lead, explained that online selling broadens the coin community to a new audience.

“A lot of customers in our other categories find coins and develop a new interest as they learn from experienced sellers and buyers,” he explained.

The Professional Numismatists Guild is a nonprofit organization composed of many of the top rare coin and paper money dealers in the United States and four other countries. PNG member-dealers must adhere to a strict Code of Ethics in buying and selling numismatic merchandise.

The Professional Numismatists Guild was founded in 1955, due in no small measure to the vision of well-known coin dealer Abe Kosoff. Kosoff and several other coin dealers believed that the hobby of coin collecting would be better served if a professional group was organized. After much effort, the Professional Numismatists Guild was established. Its motto, “Knowledge, Integrity, Responsibility” continues to reflect the aims of our not-for-profit organization.
