Adapted from Frank Herbert’s Hugo Award-winning novel and produced by Legendary Entertainment, DUNE and DUNE: PART TWO have earned eight Academy Awards and continue to captivate global audiences with their visionary storytelling and cinematic excellence. The first two films were critical and commercial successes, creating strong demand and as such, confirmation of DUNE: PART THREE was publicised last year with the cast announced throughout March 2025. Principal photography began in July 2025 and wrapped up that November, taking place in Budapest and Abu Dhabi and a December 2026 release date is scheduled.
DUNE is a mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, and tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding. He must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential, and only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

The coins are produced by the Perth Mint at their facilities in Western Australia and designed by Sean Rogers. The reverse side depicts the Emperor’s grand ship and imperial tent, set against the sweeping desert landscape of Arrakis. Highlighted in the foreground is the desert mouse known as Muad'Dib—an evolved kangaroo mouse native to Arrakis, revered by the Fremen for its adaptability and spiritual symbolism. Superimposed over the Grand ship is the logo of DUNE. Shown near the left rim is the Perth Mint’s P mintmark with the coins’ image trademark TM & © 2026 Legendary. shown along the upper rim. The obverse side includes an effigy of HM King Charles III created by engraver Jody Clark along with the country’s name TUVALU shown in the legend above the effigy. The text 1oz 9999 Ag 2026 1 DOLLAR is placed along the lower rim under the King’s likeness.
