Obverse: At the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center – the image of a spinning wheel symbolizing perpetual motion and folk culture whose pattern is changing into the structure of tree rings embellished with Belarusian ornaments and stylized silhouettes of the storks; beneath – the year of issue; and circumferential inscriptions: at the top – РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), and at the bottom – 1 рубель (1 ruble).
Reverse: The stylized silhouette of the stork symbolizing the Belarusian land whose wings are extended upwards and locked in an embrace within which there are representations of the stars, the moon in the shape of a coiled snake, and a frog in the shape of the constellation – the symbols of the Belarusian legend; the national Belarusian ornaments are shown inside the silhouette of the stork; at the bottom – a circumferential inscription: ЛЕГЕНДА ПРА БУСЛА (THE LEGEND OF THE STORK).
