Obverse: A bust of a peasant woman carrying a bucket of grapes on her shoulder is in the central part of the coin. NEZ (abbreviation of NEZAVISNA) DRŽ (abbreviation of DRŽAVA) HRVATSKA is written alongside the edge of the coin.
Reverse: A Croatian interlace with three-ribbon pattern is placed alongside the edge of the coin, while the old Croatian coat of arms is at the bottom of the coin. Face value of the coin (5) is written in the central part and word kuNA is written on the left side of the number 5. Number 19 is underneath the number 5 on the left side, while the number 43 is on the right side, indicating the year of minting (1943). On the right side of the number 5, there are letters IK standing as the initials of the designer, Ivo Kerdić.
