Greysheet Catalog Details (GSID: 10376)
The 1937 Texas half dollars represent the fourth year of this commemorative type honoring the centennial of the Lone Star State's independence from Mexico in 1836. Texas half dollars are designed by Pompeo Coppini and feature depictions of an eagle and five-pointed star on the obverse. The reverse carries -- variety of design elements, including the goddess Victory, the Alamo, and two cameo busts of Texas founders Sam Houston and Stephen Austin.

The 1937 Texas half dollars were made at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints and are generally scarcer than the preceding Texas halves made from 1934 through 1936. Most of the 1937 Texas half dollars are encountered in the grades of MS62 to MS66 and are found with excellent color and luster. Examples grading MS67 are scarce and those in the grade of MS68 are extraordinarily rare.

Obverse: Features an eagle before a five-pointed star, referencing the Texas Lone Star symbol.
Reverse: The reverse showcases several design elements, including the winged goddess Victory, cameo portraits of Texas Republic founders General Sam Houston and Stephen Austin, and the famous Alamo.

About CDN Prices

All CDN prices are based on proprietary market knowledge and technology developed by CDN Publishing, LLC.

CPG® prices represent retail levels. Collectors should refer to CPG values as a starting place for their negotiations, or auction bid reference.

Greysheet/Greensheet prices are wholesale market levels for collectible coins/paper money intended to indicate what a dealer, or wholesale, buyer would pay for the described item in the specified grade. Greysheet/Greensheet represent "sight-seen" values based on a buyer's in-hand review. The actual value can be more or less than this depending on factors including eye appeal and market timing.

Bluesheet (NGC & PCGS) prices represent the highest sight-unseen offers to buy on dealer networks like CDN Exchange. In many cases, there are no active sight-unseen buy offers, so CDN looks to the recent lowest market values for such an item. For this reason, Bluesheet values typically represent the floor of the market for the specified item. CDN only tracks Bluesheet on certain items.

CAC prices are for U.S. coins that meet the standards of the Certified Acceptance Corporation. You can learn more about CAC on their web site.
