A silver plug was used to adjust the improper weight of the planchet. Considered a desirable variety and highly sought by specialists.
Obverse: The original design of Liberty, facing right, with hair flowing as if facing a slight breeze. 8 and 7 stars on the left and right periphery, respectively with the word LIBERTY across the top and the date positioned in the bottom center.
Reverse: A small eagle standing on branches surrounded by olive branches that are tied in a bow at the bottom. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the periphery. No denomination is mentioned.
