The 1778 ½ Speciedaler is part of a series of Standard circulation coins struck from 1776-1779. Designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Silver (.875).
Obverse: Monogram of Christian VII: two mirrored, stylized Cs, crowned and flanked by two mirrored, stylized 7s. The monogram divides value at sides, and is encircled by the legend.
Reverse: Crowned round shield with arms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, within laurel crossed branches. Around is the King's motto, while below the date is divided by mintmark.
