The 1690 4 Mark Danske is part of a series of Standard circulation coins struck from 1690-1690. Designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Silver (.671).
Obverse: Half lenght full armored bust of King Christian V facing right. The King is wearing a bend with the pendant of the Order of the Elephant. Main features of this portrait (used only in this type and same deisgn 2 mark coin) are the bow tie and an elaborated wig.
Reverse: Crowned bigger coat of arms of Denmark and its territories is adorned by a thin band with the pendant of the Order of Elephant. Date and value are divided at both sides of arms, while the mintmark is at bottom divided by the elephant. King's motto is around rim, divided at both sides.
