Obverse: Crowned and mantled bust of King Frederik III facing right. Legend around rim. King wears an armor below the drapes with a lion head on shoulders
Reverse: Crown of Denmark above three ornate rounded shields with arms of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The shield are placed in a triangular frame with the vertex down. A thick band as that of a necklace with the pendant of the Order of the Elephant is hanging from the upper shields. Behind the shields lays a cross with long arms Value and date as legend along the rim, divided in four parts by cross arms . Mintmark (if present) is at right of crown, at the beginning of the value.
