The new coins mark Italy’s entry into the bullion market with their first release of a traditional silver crown-size coin since 1914 and during the reign of King Victor Emanuel III. These were silver 5 Lire coins depicting the Roman Quadriga Chariot on the reverse. For 2025, the new series pays a wonderful tribute to the world of nature and the radiant daisy, symbol of light and purity.

The obverse side is designed by Monica Ciucci who depicts the front-facing image an allegorical female personifying Italian flora, with her head crowned with flowers of different varieties. To the left and right of the female image are stylised branches of olive and oak along with the denomination of 0,25 EURO placed on the left and the specifications of the coin 1 oz Ag .999 shown along the lower right rim. The text FLORA is placed along the upper left rim. The reverse side is designed by Annalisa Masini who depicts a collection of wild daisies in the centre and surrounded with a circle. Within the lower left circle is the stylised text of the scientific name of the daisy, known as LEUCANTHEMUM. To the right of the flowers is the year of issue 2025 and the letter R, identifying the Mint of Rome. Encircling the primary design is the inscription REPUBBLICA ITALIANA with the name of the designer A.MASINI placed along the lower rim.
