Struck in Mexico City and designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Bimetallic; center silver-plated alpaca, 0.65 copper, 0.1 nickel, 0.25 zinc; outer ring 0.92 copper, 0.06 aluminum, 0.02 nickel from a mintage of 985,000 struck.
Obverse: On the alpaca (German silver) center, the national coat of arms with the eagle facing left, its feathers resembling plates of armor. On the bronze-aluminum outer ring, the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS above, with a half-wreath of oak and laurel below.
Reverse: On the outer ring, the denomination $20 at the bottom; at the left, 100 ANIVERSARIO / LUCTUOSO (100th Anniversary / of His Death); at the right, 150 ANIVERSARIO / DE SU NACIMIENTO (150th Anniversary / of His Birth). At the center, a forward-facing bust of Domínguez with the head turned partway to the right, with the mintmark M in the upper right field and the dates 1863–2013 at lower right, along the edge. At the top of the coin, in three lines (beginning on the outer ring and continuing on the silver center), BELISARIO / DOMÍNGUEZ / ENNOBLECIÓ A LA PATRIA (Belisario / Domínguez / Dignified Our Fatherland).
