Struck in Mexico City and designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Bimetallic; center 0.925 silver, 0.075 copper; outer ring 0.92 copper, 0.06 aluminum, 0.02 nickel from a mintage of 149,560 struck.
Obverse: On the silver center, the national coat of arms with the eagle facing left, its wings resembling plates of armor. On the bronze-aluminum outer ring, the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS above, with a half-wreath of oak and laurel below.
Reverse: Extending across the outer ring and the silver center, an outline map of Coahuila with an array of emblems both inside and outside. Outside the map, clockwise from upper right, chimneys of the Nava Power Plant, a steel beam, the belfry of the Catedral de Santiago del Saltillo, the statue Christ of the Noas, and the Amistad Dam. Inside the map, an endangered box turtle, a mining cart in a mineshaft, and a bundle of grapes. At the top of the silver center, 2006 / $100, with the mintmark M above on the outer ring. At the bottom of the outer ring, a banner reading COAHUILA DE ZARAGOZA.
