Struck in Mexico City and designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Bimetallic; center 0.925 silver, 0.075 copper; outer ring 0.92 copper, 0.06 aluminum, 0.02 nickel from a mintage of 149,491 struck.
Obverse: On the silver center, the national coat of arms with the eagle facing left, its wings resembling plates of armor. On the bronze-aluminum outer ring, the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS above, with a half-wreath of oak and laurel below.
Reverse: On the silver center, the head of Palenque ruler Pakal in three-quarter profile to the left, with M / 2006 at upper left and $100 at lower right. On the bronze-aluminum outer ring, CHIAPAS and CABEZA MAYA DEL REY PAKAL, PALENQUE.
