Obverse: On the bronze-aluminum center, the national coat of arms with the eagle facing left, its feathers resembling plates of armor. On the stainless-steel outer ring, the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS above, with a half-wreath of oak and laurel below.
Reverse: On the bronze-aluminum center, the denomination N$2 with large 2; to the left of the top of the 2, the date; to the right, the mintmark M. On the outer ring, selected glyphs from the Anillo de los Días (Ring of Days) on the Aztec Calendar Stone.
